Day 8 - Mweya Lodge

Day 7 was spent mainly travelling. We went to Revd George's house in Ibanda first before setting off for the Queen Elizabeth National Park. We arrived at Mweya Lodge on the shores of the lake at about 5pm and relaxed for the rest of the evening. Beautiful sunset and lots of warthogs around the lodge.

Next day (Thursday) we were up early for a game drive. We drove around the national park for several hours and saw plenty of Ugandan Cob and buck, but not much else. Unfortunately the guide was not very good.

In the afternoon we went for a boat cruise along the Kisenga channel which joins Lakes Edward and George. This was absolutely wonderful with a large variety of game. We saw lots of elephant, hippo and water buffalo, and all sorts of birds inluding pelicans and kingfishers. We also saw some baby crocs but they didn't come too close.

Another glorious sunset, drinks around the campfire and a wonderful meal, followed by comfortable bed and luxury shower, completed a wonderful day.
