Uganda 2006
Last year a small team of volunteers from
Dean Close School travelled to Uganda to see what we could do to help.
In particular we helped a school in Ibanda, western Uganda, by
providing running water, solar power, new desks, doors and window
frames, and cementing walls and floors of classrooms.
We also visited an orphanage and various
urban projects in the capital, Kampala. The whole trip was a huge
eye-opener to all who went.
This year we returned to see what more
we could do to help. The team was different from last year - except for
most of the leaders. We are safely home now, but we came back with some
life-long
memories, and some new friends.
Use the page menu on the left to click
through to pages of text and pictures about what we got up to. Due to
technical difficulties we could not update the site while we were in
Uganda but now that we're back it will gradually be enlarged as we add
photos and comment. Eventually we hope to have at least one video
online as well.
Last year's Uganda trip is recorded at www.freewebs.com/uganda2005
and a photogallery for that trip is here.
